In August 1992 , a combat video game called Mortal Kombat was released in the arcade . First thing remarkable about this time: the game uses real filmed sequences of actors for the design of the characters, breaking directly with the usual graphics of a video game. This bringing more realism, Midway , the American development company, did not stop there by bringing a trash and bloodthirsty atmosphere to their software. The success was there and it resulted in several sequels, Mortal Kombat II , Mortal Kombat 3 and its improved opuses.
The story begins with the aftermath of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon , where almost all of the Kombatters were killed. Only two Kombatants survived: Raiden, the God of Lightning and Shao Kahn, the Emperor of the Underworld. Kahn saw his powers increased by killing Blaze, and is currently engaged in a Kombat with Raiden, where he easily wins and mocks the Lightning God, thereby destroying his Amulet. Realizing that the Kombat is lost, Raiden gathers a few shattered pieces of his Amulet and sends an encrypted message to his Past Self, including the words “He must win”, moments before Shao Kahn delivers a killing blow to him.
