Stronghold Crusader Gameplay

Stronghold: Crusader features several on-chain campaigns in real time . These documents from the First , Second, and Third Crusades , as well as conflicts within the individual Crusader states . Each campaign consists of several battles, for example, Nicea , Heraclea , Siege of Antioch , Krak des Chevaliers and the Siege of Jerusalem. The game also features the “Crusader Trail” a series of fifty linked missions against various opponents. Stronghold Warchest adds two more Crusader Trails, one consists of thirty linked missions and the “Extreme Trail” consists of twenty linked missions.

The gameplay is similar to the original Stronghold , the main difference being that the game takes place in the Middle East . As a consequence, farms can only be built on oasis grass , leading to rivalry between players for farmland and limited resources. The game adds new AI adversaries (the number depends on the version of the game) and several new units from Arabia that can be acquired from a mercenary outpost. The color of the player’s units have also been changed from blue to red in order to match the colors of the Knights Templar .
