The Asskickers is a video game independent developed and published by AGO Games and directed by Stanislas Berton. The Asskickers was released on 1 st July 2011 on PC and Mac download only. The Asskickers allows the player to play as three ordinary heroes face a political and financial elite corrupt that they literally kicking ass to wash their honor and the triumph of justice. Receiving critical acclaim for less mixed one , however, the game will have their boldness welcomed by several publications.
The Asskickers is a beat them all playable in 2D up to two players on the same screen.
The game features a total of six levels cut into sub-levels in which the player confronts a succession of enemies. To neutralize each playable character has a standard range of moves and special moves that each use a stamina bar decreases.
The player can select from three playable characters available, Alex, Diane and Marcus, each having different characteristics and abilities. In two-player mode, players can use exclusive cooperative mode and moves to different combinations chosen as characters. The two-player mode also unlocks dialogue between the characters.
The Asskickers has several difficulty modes which only the Easy mode allows the player to save the game at the end of each level.
At the end of each level, the player has a “asskicking Time” during which he can literally kick ass boss he just beat.
The Asskickers takes place in the fictional city of Metropolis. One evening while the three Asskickers, Alex, Diane and Marcus, train in the dojo of Master Wong, the course is interrupted by a shady real estate developer who is trying to expropriate by force the old master. The Asskickers defend their mentor and find themselves involved in a scandal that will lead them to reveal corruption up to the highest peaks in the state.
According Stanislas Berton, two factors have significantly influenced the creation of The Asskickers 3 ; a hand, beat them all in 2D such as Streets of Rage or Double Dragon and, secondly, the financial crisis of 2007-2008 due to the excesses of financial capitalism and white-collar crime.
