Railroad Tycoon II is a 2D game (except the Dreamcast version, made entirely with 3D in real time) offering you to develop rail transport at various times of the xix th century to the present day.
Based on the classic game Sid Meier Railroad Tycoon, Railroad Tycoon II puts you in the shoes of an “iron man”, an entrepreneur from the time when the railways were the arteries and veins of each country, city and industry on the planet. You start with enough money to buy one or two locomotives, some stations and fairly long way to connect them. What happens next in this real-time strategy depends on your ability to leverage your investments out maneuver your competitors, excite your shareholders and your passengers. In solo action, the campaign mode offers a series of 18 scenarios complexity and increasing difficulty. If you do not want to play a full campaign, select the one of the 15 individual cards in the game and play a simple scenario to reach a predefined goal. The sandbox is the mode you simply lay track, build your railway system and manage your company without time limit, without goals and without opponents, this mode is mainly reserved for people who want to become familiar with the game.
Railroad Tycoon II also provides a map editor that allows you to create custom scenarios. In multiplayer mode, you can play against other human players via TCP / IP or AppleTalk network (Windows and Macintosh can not join forces in multiplayer). This version is supported by GameRanger , an online multiplayer service dedicated exclusively to Macintosh users. Other Railroad Tycoon II features include a time frame ranging from late 1820 to 2000, multiple resolutions, full of video clips, different camera angles with zoom and different places around the world. A trading system and complex enough shares was grafted this game.
Railroad Tycoon II is a train simulation game that covers the history of railways in the late 1700s to the 2000s The player assumes the role of President in a railway company, trying to make profits for investors ( often but not necessarily including the player himself) and by completing various objectives while being hindered by rival firms, breakdowns and train accidents and trains looting. Most of the time the gameplay is to follow the construction steps, pathways and railway stations and trains, which are used to transport goods from one station to another. The money received through the transport is determined by the distance between the two stations, the demand and value of the goods delivered, of station improvements (some constructions related bonuses (eg a bar refers extra 10% on passenger transport), others limit penalties) and level of difficulty. The game has quite a complex trading simulation. The assets of the player are separated from corporate wealth, but the control exercised by the player on the company allows experienced players to operate their businesses by manipulating dividends, share repurchases and share issues. The player is allowed to buy and sell stocks, but be careful with the possible indebtedness of the player, limited by a credit line. Other limit penalties) and level of difficulty.
